Preo Provides Printelligence To TELUS Team Members

preo softwarePreo Software Inc. has entered into a company-wide site license agreement with TELUS Communications. This 24 month agreement, with an option for an additional 24 months, allows TELUS to deploy Preo’s Printelligence MPS to all TELUS Team Members across Canada to help reduce the amount of paper used for printing as part of the corporation’s social responsibility program.

“We are proud to be able to count TELUS, one of Canada’s leading telecommunications companies, as one of our largest customers,” said Randy Coates, Chief Operating Officer of Preo Software. “Our ability to help monitor and manage geographically disparate end-user print is emphasized with a customer like TELUS.”

Printelligence’s many strengths include its ability to create awareness of wasteful print jobs within a company. Pop-up balloons communicate messages such as: Your last print job cost $0.52, TELUS asks….did you really need to print your email in colour? ….Corporate policy recommends printing jobs over 6 pages in duplex. Please ‘Think Green’ next time….If this PowerPoint material is for internal use, please consider printing in MONO to reduce your print expense.

The software also allows for tracking of print volumes and behaviors, enabling companies to charge printing costs back to a specific department, thus driving accountability within the business. Additionally, the software tracks print volume per printer, allowing a company to identify low-use printers and pull them out of service, thereby reducing total printer count and associated maintenance costs.

Since 2006, TELUS has cut its annual paper consumption by almost 50 million sheets of paper. TELUS is targeting a further 10 per cent reduction in paper in 2011 and Preo Software Inc. is committed to assisting TELUS achieve its goal.

“TELUS is pleased with both the environmental and financial benefits of deploying Printelligence. The user data this software captures provides real insight into our actual print behavior,” said Steve Wekarchuk, director of TELUS Client Technology Enablement. “But what is particularly attractive about this software is its use will help us in our ongoing efforts to reduce paper consumption across our entire company.”
