FreshTVFresh TV, in association with TELETOON Canada, has announced that production started this week for Season Two of the highly anticipated series My Babysitter’s a Vampire. A 2011 summer hit for Disney in the U.S., Season One will satisfy viewers’ vampire cravings when it premieres early January 2012 on TELETOON.
“We are excited for fans to take a bite out the second season of My Babysitter’s a Vampire,” said Tom McGillis, Executive Producer at Fresh TV. “Season Two will be packed with new twists and turns, more action and thrills and a ton of comedic relief.”

My Babysitter’s a Vampire is a fun and hilarious vampire adventure, based on the hit movie of the week with the same name, that received a Gemini Award nomination for Best Dramatic Mini-Series or TV movie and is TELETOON’s most successful live-action project to-date.

In Season Two, this witty and fast-paced action series will turn heads and continue to surprise fans. Viewers will follow Ethan (Mathew Knight: A Heartland Christmas, The Haunting Hour, The Grudge 3, Flashpoint), a socially awkward teenager, and his flamboyantly geeky best friends Benny (Atticus Mitchell: How to be Indie), a magic-loving earth priest and Rory (Cameron Kennedy: Jesus Henry Christ, Toronto Stories, The Latest Buzz), a not-so-bright nouveau vampire, as they come face-to-face with terrifying demons, zombies, mean spirits, bloodthirsty vampires and new supernatural creatures.

Returning for Season Two is Vanessa Morgan (Geek Charming [post-production], The Latest Buzz, Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars) as Sarah, Ethan’s super-hot vampire babysitter. Morgan is currently working on her first album and recently released her first dance single and music video, “Best of All”. Kate Todd (Cashing in, Life With Derek) will also reprise her roll as Erica, an intelligent but impulsive vampire and Sarah’s best friend.

As the teens wisecrack their way through battles with the underworld’s most evil creatures and deal with the realities of life – girls, detention and bullies – they realize the scariest thing of all is still high school!

My Babysitter’s A Vampire was developed and produced by Fresh TV, in association with TELETOON Canada Inc. and is distributed by FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME). Executive Producers are Tom McGillis, Brian Irving, George Elliott, Jennifer Pertsch who is also a writer, Sander Schwartz and Bob Higgins. Associate Producer is Robin McLeod; Co-producer is Tim Burns; Producer is Byron Martin and Directors are Tibor Takacs, Kelly Harms, Laurie Lynd, T.W. Peacocke and Jerry Ciccoritti with Brian Verhoog as Production Designer and Gerald Packer as Director of Photography.

My Babysitter’s A Vampire is produced with the participation of the Canada Media Fund created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry, and with the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit Program, the Shaw Rocket Fund and the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund.
