Radio Disney Comes To Family Channel Online

Astral’s Family Channel has announced that Radio Disney will be available in Canada for free and without a subscriptionFamily Channel exclusively on Family.ca. The 24-hour radio station devoted to kids, tweens and families will stream on the network website as of today.

“Music is an integral element of the Family brand and it is a pleasure to be able to offer Radio Disney, free of charge to Family fans,” said Joe Tedesco, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Astral Kids. “Not only does launching Radio Disney on Family.ca strengthen our connection with our audience who we know are keen for more music, it also further entrenches the relationship between Astral and Disney.”

“Disney and Astral have long standing relationship, from Family Channel to Disney Junior and most recently Disney XD,” said Sean Cocchia, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Radio Disney. “As Radio Disney celebrates its 15th birthday, we are thrilled to further connect with Astral’s audience by bringing the network to the Canadian market.”

Visitors to Family.ca, one of Canada’s most popular kid’s websites, will be able to find a link to the Radio Disney stream from the Family.ca homepage. The Radio Disney stream available on Family.ca will be a feed of the American broadcast currently available in the U.S. on over 35 domestic terrestrial radio stations as well as via RadioDisney.com, Sirius and XM satellite radio, iTunes Radio Tuner, mobile phones and on the Radio Disney iPhone and Android Apps. Radio Disney, which celebrates its fifteenth anniversary this year, features music from hit recording artists including Selena Gomez & The Scene, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Willow Smith, China Anne McClain, Cody Simpson, Katy Perry, Taio Cruz and Allstar Weekend, as well as shows such as “N.B.T.” (Next BIG Thing) and “Total Access.” Also on the Radio Disney streaming page will be information on Family programming as well as sponsorship and advertising opportunities for promotional partners.
