Goldtooth Creative Reflects On Banner Year

Goldtooth CreativeIt has been a banner year for Vancouver’s Goldtooth Creative Agency with accolades rolling in for the studio’s creative involvement in the CG game trailers and cinematics for the upcoming PROTOTYPE® 2  by Radical Entertainment and its award-winning game trailer marketing campaign for the best-selling Deus Ex: Human Revolutionâ„¢.  The studio’s VFX work and musical score for the hit web series, Mortal Kombat: Legacyâ„¢provided yet another example of the range and depth of Goldtooth’s technical expertise.

The past 12 months was topped off with the Purity First live-action trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution receiving a nomination as Trailer of the Year from Spike TV’s 2011 Video Game Awards (VGAs).  The winner will be announced December 10.

For company founders Kody Sabourin and Tyler Weiss, this past year only provided a glimpse into what is still to come from this highly accomplished full-service production studio. Goldtooth Creative continues pushing boundaries to create full marketing campaigns and cinematics for AAA console games and provide seamless VFX, CG, live action filmmaking, musical compositions and audio production work for film, television and the web.

The studio’s extraordinary efforts culminated in the director’s cut of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution CG trailer, which was directed by Sabourin, being voted best game trailer of all time by GameTrailers.com users in October 2011.

Goldtooth Creative’s wide exposure to an international audience this year and the consistently high user ratings its trailers generate has upped the profile of this Canadian west coast success story in the eyes of publishers and studios alike. The result: high-profile trailers for some of the most anticipated game titles of 2012.

Featured in magazines like 3D Artist and Applied Arts and profiled in numerous newspaper articles as well as serving as the focus of a client video produced by the likes of industry heavyweight Autodesk, Goldtooth Creative made an indelible impression in 2011.

GameTrailers.com as well as Applied Arts magazine recognized the studio’s live-action viral videos, Purity First and Sarif Industries, respectively, which Goldtooth Creative also produced for the Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer campaign. The awards were the latest in a long line of accolades for the campaign including a nomination for Sabourin – in collaboration with Visual Works and Eidos-Montreal – from the Visual Effects Society for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Video Game Trailer.

Goldtooth Creative’s CG trailers for PROTOTYPE 2 premiered at San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic-Con this year to widespread acclaim and excitement.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy, a web project that Goldtooth Creative contributed VFX, story editing and a musical score for during the first half of 2011, was subsequently picked up as a feature film by New Line Cinema this past September.

Since its inception in July 2008, Goldtooth Creative has emerged as an industry leader in the development and creation of full marketing campaigns for top-selling video games produced by some of the biggest names in the industry. As well as being a full-service production studio producing award-winning VFX, CG, live action and audio production work for film, television and the web, Goldtooth is also a creative agency offering editorial, music composition and postproduction services, including 5.1-surround mixing and full colour suite capabilities. With its roster of writers, directors and producers, Goldtooth Creative engages with clients as a creative partner to develop marketing and in-game content.
