[1]Conquer Mobile [1], a Vancouver-based developer of secure enterprise workforce apps, joined Sanotron’s recent Hacking Health [2] event and swept up awards with eBeeper [3], a breakthrough mobile app for Emergency Departments. The Sanotron Hacking Health event in Vancouver attracted over 200 people and assembled over 30 projects, to innovate health technology and complete for prizes. Judges included emergency physicians from BC and Alberta, managers from Fraser Health IT, and Vancouver General IT, and the Vancouver Coastal Health director. eBeeper won three awards:

- Most Likely to Succeed
- Best Overall
eBeeper addresses a problem with current ER practice. When a patient is asked to get an X-ray or blood work-up, the patient is directed to the appropriate facility within the hospital. However, the emergency physician does not know when the X-ray images or lab results are ready for review. This means physicians must periodically log-in and check for patient results, often wasting valuable time and leaving patients waiting. eBeeper solves this problem, with realtime physician notifications. It is like FedEx tracking for doctors and is tuned to optimize the physician’s workflow.
A co-founder of the company, Wayne Choi, now an Emergency Medicine resident physician at McGill University, identified a pain in the current ER practice. eBeeper was created by a team of 4, developers Aaron Hilton (CTO of Conquer Mobile) and Owen Mead-Robins, and UBC medical students Billy Lin and Johnny Lee to solve this problem.
“We are very excited about eBeeper and its potential to transform the patient experience in ER,” said Aaron Hilton, CTO Conquer Mobile. “With our multi-disciplinary approach, bringing together emergency physicians, medical experts and mobile specialists, we are confident that we can provide a practical mobile solution to a real problem.”
Conquer Mobile is now actively investigating the commercialization of this technology, filing patents and assembling a dream team of developers, medical contacts, and business leaders.
