Telefilm Canada Funds Production Of Five Feature Films

Telefilm Canada Telefilm Canada has announced its support of the production of five feature films, two in English and three in French, through the Canada Feature Film Fund (CFFF). A total of $4.7 million in funding is being invested in the selected projects for the third quarter of 2013-2014. On January 13, 2014, Telefilm announced $3.7 million in funding support for five feature-film projects for the second quarter of 2013-2014. In an industry advisory released on January 6, 2014, the organization announced over $4 million in financing for 18 lower-budget feature-film projects. Read the rest of this entry »

Teletoon April Programming Highlights

teletoonTELETOON premieres the new series Steven Universe this April. Described as “the romantic misadventures of a weird looking boy and a flame-spewing princess” in the New York Times, the show follows Steven and three gem-covered female superheroes Amethyst, Garnet and Pearl. April Fool’s Day includes the premiere of a one hour Mightly Mighty Monsters: Pranks for the Memories special as well as the Total Drama All-Stars’ “alternate ending” finale episode where the season’s loser ends up winning! Both Packages From Planet X and Ultimate Spider-Man also air their season finale episodes this April. Lego Ninjago drops two brand new episodes back-to-back! Telefilm Canada Announces Closing Date For Large Budget French-Language Productions

Telefilm CanadaTelefilm Canada wishes to inform Production Program clients that they have until March 24 to submit funding applications for projects with budgets of $2.5 million or more. The Program will then be closed for the remainder of fiscal 2014-2015. The Production Program for projects with budgets of $2.5 million or more opened on December 16, 2013. Final Approach For Arctic Air

CBCIt is with great sadness that we announce news that we found out this past Friday morning. CBC has cancelled Arctic Air, a dramatic series starring  and . The series, which featured a family-run bush pilot charter plane service based in Yellowknife, is coming to an end after three eventful seasons. While there was some location shooting done in the Northwest Territories, the majority of the shooting was actually done around the Lower Mainland, with the show’s main sound stage located in Aldergrove, where the show also made use of the local Best Western Hotel, the Aldergrove branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and other properties. Arctic Air had become a fixture here, as well as at the Langley, Boundary Bay and Pitt Meadows Municipal Airports. As the official mover of “Adam’s plane” the company Scott and I work for to pay the bills, one of that company’s trucks is now moving the Beaver for the final time, returning it to its owner. Celebrate The Start Of Spring With Free Trial Access To Wii Sports Club On Wii U

Nintendo CanadaSpring is almost here! As the cold weather slowly creeps away, welcome the new season by tossing away the blanket and hopping off the couch to play Wii Sports Club. Starting on March 21 at 9 a.m. PT, Wii U owners can download and play the Wii Sports Club game for free until March 23 at 11:59 p.m. PT. This promotion includes free access to all three currently available sports (Wii Sports Club – Golf, Wii Sports Club – Bowling and Wii Sports Club – Tennis) and is open to all Wii U owners, even those who have previously tried or have already downloaded Wii Sports Club. As an added bonus, the Resort Course, a new nine-hole course in Wii Sports Club – Golf that was originally featured in Wii Sports Resort, will be permanently added to the game via an update that is available today.
