First LEGO League Teams Invent ‘Senior Solutions’ at Provincial Competitions

first roboticsMore than 80 First LEGO League teams brought their robots, inventions and innovations to the First LEGO League (FLL) Championships held in Oshawa and Waterloo. “Senior Solutions”, this year’s challenge, asked teams of nine to fourteen year old builders to develop innovative ways to help senior citizens maintain their independence and quality of life, with over 80 different innovations proposed by teams to the judges at the two separate events held at UOIT in Oshawa on January 12th and at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo on January 13th. Toronto 2015 Mascot Creation Challenge For Kids To Hold Workshops In Ontario

toronto2015A crack team of top Canadian athletes and award-winning illustrators is warming up their coloured pencils and getting their game faces on to host a series of workshops—starting this Friday—to help inspire young people to enter the Toronto 2015 Mascot Creation Challenge, which closes in just four weeks’ time. The workshops on Friday and Saturday will be held in libraries and community centres throughout Toronto, Ajax, Caledon, Hamilton, Markham and Mississauga. Countdown to the World Education Games

Orby ReadsHosted annually by 3P Learning, the World Education Games allows students from around the world to compete with each other in an on-line competition.  Last year, 6 million students from over 200 countries and territories participated in the free competition.  3P Learning’s online resources – Mathletics, Spellodrome, and IntoScience – are the engines for the educational challenge that allows students to compete based on their age and skill level.
