Acceleware Announces Expanded CUDA Training Schedule

accelewareAcceleware Ltd., a Calgary-based developer of high performance computing applications, today announced an expanded CUDA training schedule to meet the growing demand for expertise in GPU computing. The 2012 training schedule features a doubling of frequency and location over last year, plus several new industry focused courses. Acceleware’s training classes, presented in association with Microsoft® will provide programmers with comprehensive instruction on advanced parallel architectures to maximize GPU performance using the NVIDIA® CUDA® parallel programming environment.

Students attending the Acceleware CUDA training benefit from a combination of classroom lectures and hands-on assignments to fully learn the unique intricacies of programming for the GPU. The classes are taught by Acceleware developers, who provide real world experience and examples. Small class sizes and an individual CUDA-enabled laptop for each student ensure a top quality training environment.

“2012 marks Acceleware’s fourth year of delivering industry-leading CUDA training courses to programmers looking to accelerate their proficiency as CUDA developers,” said Robert Miller, VP of Marketing and Product Management for Acceleware. “The expanded schedule allows more opportunities for programmers to experience the same benefits more than 1,000 students in 9 countries have already received from Acceleware’s industry-leading expertise in GPU computing.”

New for 2012 is the introduction of industry-focused courses for the oil and gas, finance and pharmaceutical/biotech industries. These four-day courses will include exercises based on algorithms that are commonly used in each industry.

“NVIDIA has worked closely with Acceleware since the beginning of the GPU computing era and we continue to recommend their CUDA courses for the quality of learning that programmers will experience,” said Ian Buck, general manager, GPU Computing Software at NVIDIA.

The expanded schedule features the following classes:

  • March 20-23, Houston, TX – Oil & Gas focused
  • May 8- 11, Calgary, AB, Canada
  • June 4-7, Boston, MA – Pharmaceutical/Biotech focused
  • July 17-20, Irvine, CA
  • September 18-21, Washington, DC
  • October 23-26, Chicago, IL
  • November 6-9, Houston, TX
  • December 4-7, New York, NY – Finance focused

Course fee includes: use of a laptop equipped with an NVIDIA CUDA GPU, manual containing all lecture materials, electronic copy of lab exercises and a certificate of completion for each participant.
