transmitBC 2012: Defining the BC Story for the Screen-Based and Creative Industries

movie orby [1]This fall, transmitBC [2] will invite leaders in the TV, film, gaming, digital media and music sectors to become one of the 100 stakeholders that will define the BC Story for the province’s screen-based and creative industries. The summit will take place from September 19 – 21 in Vancouver.

transmitBC’s intense two-day workshop (September 20 – 21) aims to develop a cohesive story with a defined value proposition that illustrates how being a part of BC’s screen-based and creative cluster makes companies unique and attractive in the face of domestic and global markets.

transmitBC will apply innovative practices co-designed by transmitNOW [3] and The Value Web [4]. Their facilitation approach is recognized for having the ability to align and synthesize multiple stakeholder perspectives to achieve a common objective. Participants will undergo a series of activities to establish the common BC story, including ‘B2B Sessions’ where the story will be applied across several different industry contexts.

As the core of transmitBC’s process is rooted in the active input of its participants, invitees are required to commit to two full days of the workshop to take part in this highly collaborative event. The design process will be both intensive and interactive, and invited participants will reap the greatest benefits through their immersion in the program for its full duration.

transmitBC is set to take place in the state-of-the-art Capilano University Bosa Centre for Film and Animation [5]. The Centre’s secluded location in North Vancouver is one more way transmitBC will facilitate the uninterrupted focus and cooperation of its participants.

The transmitBC experience will be limited to 100 stakeholders, with a set number of spots available in each sector to ensure broad, cross-industry representation. Those who wish to partake in this event are encouraged to request an invitation. Requests will be reviewed by transmitBC organizers, and successful applicants will receive their invitations to register in the next two weeks.

Registration rates [2] start at $200 per person. Request an invitation today to attend transmitBC by filling out the online application form [6].  Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
