Ubisoft has announced that record-breaking open-world action game Watch Dogs will finally be available for the Wii U™ system from Nintendo on November 18 in North America.  Watch Dogs will take advantage of the Wii U specific hardware with a detailed and interactive map of Chicago to be displayed on the Wii U™ GamePad. This is the start of a new generation of hockey videogames, according to Electronic Arts Inc., who announced today that EA SPORTS™ NHL® 15 is now available in retail stores throughout North America and for direct download on Xbox Live® and PlayStation® Store. From the players, to the fans and arenas, to the revolutionary broadcast package, NHL 15 brings to life the sights, sounds and feel of the fastest team sport on the planet like no other game before. Fans can expect more free content from the game post-launch with the NHL 15 Content Update program for the Xbox One and PlayStation^®4. This will include gameplay updates based on fan feedback, the upcoming release of Online Team Play and a new Playoff mode that allows for customizable bracket sizes. Ubisoft has announced that Watch_Dogs Bad Blood, a new downloadable piece of content for Watch_Dogs, the record-breaking open-world action game that has sold-in more than 8 million units, will release on September 23 for season pass holders and September 30 for all other players. Unfortunately it’s a totally moot point for those of us wanting the Wii U edition of the game, because it has yet to be released, even though Ubi keeps promising a 2014 release date. Well – the hype for the game is pretty well all but over, unless the developer is hoping to capitalize on the holiday release frenzy. I’m not impressed with the delay – I just hope that it’s worth the wait. Maybe Wii U players will get the DLC included in the release when it finally happens – as a reward for being patient and not cancelling the pre-order. Well – one can always hope. Nintendo has prepared a massive lineup of new games and products for the 2014 holiday season. The lineup includes new entries from some of the biggest franchises in gaming, new hardware bundles for Wii U and Nintendo 2DS, and new amiibo interactive figures featuring some of the most iconic characters in the world of video games. The holiday shopping season begins soon for Nintendo fans, as the first 12 amiibo interactive figures become available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of just $13.99 each. The first dozen characters available for pre-order at select retailers are Mario, Peach, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Kirby, Fox, Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer, with more on the way in the future. Ubisoft has released an update for The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot that started the last round of Opulencia’s Hero Draft. The Runaway, available now and for the first time ever to all players until August 11 at 4:59pm UK time, is the final Hero to be featured in the first ever Opulencia’s Hero Draft. If the entire community performs 207,753 successful attacks with her over the course of the event, all participants will unlock the Retro Royalty Costume for her. In addition, players can earn a discount of over 60% of in-game currency on the price to unlock the Runaway by levelling her up. Players who reach level 15 will also earn an exclusive epic weapon.
