Igloo Positioned in Magic Quadrant for Social Software in the Workplace
Igloo Software, a Kitchener-based provider of social business software in the cloud, has announced it has been positioned in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Social Software in the Workplace by Nikos Drakos et al., September 28, 2012. According to Gartner, “Enterprises continue to invest in social software because they need to support more fluid communications, improve visibility across their organizations, stimulate idea sharing and support expertise location and information sharing within teams and around projects.” The report continues by stating that: “Activity streams, social analytics and social networking software continue to grow in popularity as tools to achieve these objectives.”
Igloo offers a breadth of content and collaboration features and recently rounded out its social business suite by launching social analytics and reporting powered by MicroStrategy. The partnership puts Igloo in good company as earlier this year MicroStrategy was recognized in their own right as a ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms. “Conventional wisdom suggests you should turn to one of the traditional enterprise software vendors that have entered the social business space,” said Andrew Dixon, Igloo’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Operations. “But, we compete head-to-head with these vendors and win because, more and more, organizations are seeking a modern architecture. They want the flexibility and scalability of cloud, the ability to support collaboration inside and outside the firewall and the unique capability to balance ad hoc sharing with structure and control.”
