Yworld Secures Funding And Expands Alpha Test
Vancouver-based Yworld, the collaborative networking platform designed for professionals, is expanding their closed Alpha test with a second round of invitations to faculty and students from select universities to join the first social network to sort people, groups, and projects with a proprietary influence and prestige ranking system. As part of the test, Yworld launched free, unlimited data storage for Alpha testers, as well as a collaborative whiteboard with group chat.
“Yworld is proud to invite users to our Alpha test as we build this platform from the ground up to solve the problems facing professionals today,” Yworld Co-Founder and CTO Rahul Singh said.

“We’re solving the Internet’s biggest problem by transforming the time you spend socially networking into a productive, indispensable career-booster. Our productivity tools turn your projects into a mobile and dynamic visual portfolio that stands out among the crowd. Our innovative ranking system permeates the entire community, sorting content and contributions, users and groups. Our community allows great ideas to spread while filtering spam and excess noise,” Singh added.
During the Alpha launch celebration in August, the Yworld team welcomed two important guests to their lab in downtown Vancouver. After hitting their first major milestone, Yworld was able to finalize a $500,000 investment from a private party. Yworld also welcomed Pay it Forward Foundation President Charley Johnson to their headquarters where he had a chance to meet with the team and discuss their success.
