Emily Hampshire Joins 12 Monkeys As Season 2 Regular
Montreal-born actress Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek, 12 Monkeys) has been signed to come back to Syfy’s 12 Monkeys for its second season as a series regular. Hampshire plays Jennifer Goines the role previously portrayed by Brad Pitt in the film version, a recurring role in the first season .
The character Jennifer Goines is an erratic, ranting and seemingly unhinged math genius, who meets Cole in a high-security psych ward for the criminally insane and leads him on a twist-filled journey to track down the virus her estranged father created — the virus that will eventually become the plague that destroys humanity.
The series stars Aaron Stanford (X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, THE HILLS HAVE EYES), Amanda Schull (J. EDGAR, Suits), and Kirk Acevedo (DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES). Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett have been named executive producers and showrunners for Season 2, they wrote the 12 Monkeys adaptation and served as co-executive producers on Season 1. Atlas Entertainment’s Richard Suckle and the film’s producer Charles Roven will continue to executive produce with Atlas’ Jake Kurily producing for UCP.
Hampshire is about to shoot the second season of Pop TV/ CBC television series Schitt’s Creek next month. The actress is represented in the US by managers David Guillod and Brad Pence at Intellectual Artists Management and in Canada by agents Dani De Lio at Creative Drive Artists and Karen Benzakein at K.L. Benzakein Talent.
