Brains, Business and Beer – Ideas on Tap Brings the Tech Industry Together
Ideas on Tap is a light business networking event for hi-tech professionals plus internet advertisers, social media marketers, bloggers, video game developers and other fans of the tech community
Vancouver – High tech professionals are preparing to get back to business after the holiday season at the upcoming Ideas on Tap event on Thursday January 22, 2009. Business over beer, that is. 6S Marketing and its partners will again host the immensely popular and unique networking event in the high tech Vancouver neighborhood of Yaletown. Ideas on Tap brings together the business and technology communities and industries in an entertaining and casual exchange of ideas.
“We were hoping that the first Ideas on Tap was going to be well received. Never did we imagine though, that a first time event would attract 250 people,” comments Chris Breikss, 6S Marketing Co-Founder and Director. “The day after the first event, our in-boxes and voicemails were flooded with people getting in touch to let us know what a great time they had. We just knew, from that point on that Ideas on Tap had to be a regular event.”
The inaugural Ideas on Tap, held in October 2008, brought out 250 people from various avenues of the technology and business world, from web developers, social media marketers and internet marketers to designers, videographers, bloggers and e-commerce. The event also attracted people from the financial, human resources, communications and media realms to name a few. The evening featured chatter, food, beer and a competition between speakers who pitched business ideas from a milk crate to the masses. The crowd chose a favourite business pitch via frenzied cheering and winners received hot ticket items as prizes. For most, however, the cheering and captive audience seemed prize enough.
The upcoming Ideas on Tap will be held on Thursday January 22, 2009 at the Yaletown Brewing Company at 1111 Mainland Street in Vancouver, BC at 5:00pm. The event is expected to draw an even larger crowd of the who’s who in the Vancouver technology and business scene. Confirmed speakers for the event include Ron Moravek of Sitemasher and MakeGood CEO, Rick Goosen among others.
“We are very much looking forward to seeing familiar faces return to Ideas on Tap and also new faces pop up in the crowd. This event is really for anyone interested in business, innovation and most of all, fun. It is unlike any other networking event out there,” states Breikss.
