Voices.com Expands Talent iOS App To iPad
Voices.com, the Ontario-based online marketplace that connects voice-over talents with businesses, today launched the first-ever iPad application for casting voice-overs. Now available for download from iTunes, the free app gives users the full functionality of the Voices.com website on their tablets. Voice seekers can search, audition, hire and pay voice talent. Voice-over artists can review listings of paid work, record and edit auditions, and submit them directly to potential clients.
With the introduction of this app, Voices.com services are accessible seamlessly on all Apple computing devices. In May the company introduced an iPhone/iPod Touch app and it has already been downloaded nearly 10,000 times. The app was recently named winner of a 2012 Gold Stevie International Business Award.
One of the most popular activities on the first mobile offering is applying for jobs. To date, over 6000 auditions have been recorded and submitted to clients for review. Of the iPhone app, voice-over artist Michael Harrison said, “As a talent, this is invaluable to keep up with the flow of jobs and keep my profile up-to-date.”
Clients also appreciate access to Voices.com services on the go. Kelly Cva comments, “This app is well designed. Browsing is easy and intuitive. Overall, a great way to manage voice talent searches!”
The move into the mobile space is nothing new to Voices.com. The company has maintained a mobile version of its website since 2008. Since then consumers have rapidly adopted smartphones and tablets as the preferred method of mobile computing. With 74 per cent of the company’s mobile traffic coming from iPads and iPhones, Voices.com saw the opportunity to offer its members convenient new ways to access their services.
“The industry has undergone many changes in the past few years. Just like we saw the shift in the voice-over industry moving online we are now seeing the same shift going mobile,” says David Ciccarelli, Chief Executive Officer of Voices.com. “Our goal is to make the connection between voice talent and client as easy as possible and I think our mobile apps do just that.”
