BMO Bank of Montreal has announced that it is making $10 billion available to businesses across Canada over the next three years. The financial institution recognizes that 16 per cent of SMEs are led by women and employ over 1.5 million people. Tucows Inc., a global provider of domain names, email and other Internet services, announced today the final results of its modified “Dutch auction” tender offer, which expired at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on January 20, 2012. Tucows will purchase 7,570,178 shares of its Common Stock at a purchase price of $0.77 per share, for a total cost of $5,829,037, excluding fees and expenses related to the tender offer. Payment for shares accepted for purchase will be funded from a combination of available cash and two demand loan revolving facilities Tucows currently has with the Bank of Montreal. Empire Theatres, Canada’s 2nd largest movie exhibition company announced today that it will open a new 8-screen theatre complex in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Construction on the land will begin in 2012 with the theatre complex opening in 2013.
