MySpace Canada introduces The Hollywood Minute at the 2009 Junos
Toronto – Today MySpace Canada announced “The Hollywood Minute,” the newest addition to the social portal, available exclusively in Canada. A source of candid celebrity shots, news and gossip straight from the streets, “The Hollywood Minute” will be a staple for entertainment news addicts across the country.
MySpace Canada encourages users to snap pictures or video of celebrities from around the world and upload them to “The Hollywood Minute” for a chance to be paid for the photo or video if it is syndicated through Central Image Agency, MySpace’s exclusive partner photo agency.
To introduce “The Hollywood Minute,” MySpace Canada will be hosting a suite in the Artist Sanctuary at the Loden Hotel in Vancouver during the 2009 Juno weekend. “The Hollywood Minute on MySpace Suite” will be a unique environment for artists to communicate with fans through MySpace, enjoy refreshments, and relax from the weekend’s events.
Artists will be asked to text and video blog from the MySpace stations in the suite, giving insight on the weekend activities and sharing their experience on myspace.com/hollywoodminute. The official photographer for “The Hollywood Minute” will take pictures throughout the suite and post them to the site allowing users to access and enjoy the latest from the Junos.
“‘The Hollywood Minute’ is another fantastic addition to our lineup that delivers the kind of value Canadians are looking for in an online destination,” said Dave Stevens, General Manager, MySpace Canada. “Whether it be global issues or day-to-day discussions of entertainment, music or fashion,
MySpace Canada is the go-to destination. We’re excited to be offering Canadians an inside look at the Junos, and connecting artists with their fans through the site.”
All the blogs, photos and videos will be uploaded to “The Hollywood Minute” profile on MySpace Canada at myspace.com/hollywoodminute starting Friday, March 27, 2009.
