Canadian Speedcubers Ready For World Championship

The 6th Rubik World Championship is considered to be the largest meeting of the Grandmasters of the cube. During the 3 days the speedcubers are competing for more than 24,000 euros total in 19 official events. The most anticipated event is the 3x3x3 and many are anticipating a new world record. People are placing their bet on Feliks Zemdegs from Australia who shocked the world with a 5.66 second world record this year at the Melbourne Winter Open.
The Canadian team includes four experienced speedcubers:
- Harris Chan is currently ranked 7th in the world with 7.33 seconds
- Justin Jaffray, this year’s Vancouver Open champ
- Dave Campbell, Cube Canada Day’s second place winner
- Kevin Hayes, the National Capital Region’s bronze medalist
“Any of these guys have the talent and tenacity to do great at this years world championship,” said Janos 
The Rubik’s World Championship 2011 is an official competition of the World Cube Association. Throughout the championship the official WCA regulations will be applied and the results will be added to the official WCA World Rankings. Rubik Promotions will also be in Bangkok to cheer for the Canadian team.
