Holly Bario and Mark Sourian, Co-Presidents of Production at DreamWorks Studios announced yesterday that the studio has acquired the remake rights to the 2011 French Canadian film Starbuck. The film will be written and directed by Ken Scott and produced by André Rouleau, with Scott Mednick as executive producer. The Canadian Videogame Awards were handed out in Vancouver Saturday evening, with indie developed game Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP from Capybara Games in Toronto and Eidos-Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution each taking home five awards. FIFA Soccer 12 from Electronic Arts was the public’s choice for Game of the Year, and NHL 12 from Electronic Arts was named the top selling videogame in Canada. Other individual winners included Margaritaville Online from Exploding Barrel Games, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012, both from Ubisoft Montreal.  All the awards were for work developed in Canada and released in 2011.
