Amber Mac – best-selling author of ‘Power Friending’ and social media expert, speaker, TV host and entrepreneur, will be the host for the CDMN Canada 3.0 2013 digital media conference when it is held in Toronto May 14 & 15, the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) announced today. Registration opens today for the 5th annual digital media forum, the only national event in Canada focused on the commercialization of innovation. Toronto Public Library today announced its sixth annual First & Best Booklist, the highly anticipated selection of the year’s best in Canadian books for children from birth to age five that are fun to read and help build early literacy skills. The library’s annual First & Best list is part of its Ready for Reading early literacy initiative – a comprehensive set of free high-quality programs, services and resources that supports reading readiness in children from birth to five years. This year’s list includes some of Canada’s top children’s authors and illustrators, including Jeremy Tankard (It’s a Tiger!), Cary Fagan and Dušan Petri?i? Intertainment Media Inc. has announced that the company has entered into an agreement with an unnamed, well funded Toronto-based technology company to collectively bid for the assets of Poynt Corporation. The group is prepared to enter a cash bid together with Intertainment’s secured lender’s position valued at CDN $1.7 Million. At this point, the deadline for submission of the bid is November 29, 2012. If the group is successful in its bid to acquire Poynt’s assets, Intertainment and its partner will provide additional details on their relationship and go forward plans. Toronto taxi app Hailo has announced an unprecedented holiday giveaway: one million dollars in free taxi fares as part of a campaign to ensure the safest holiday season ever in the City of Toronto.
