Kidobi Wins Best Streaming Video Platform at iKids
Canadian children’s website Kidobi has been named the Best Streaming Video Platform in the Preschool category at the inaugural iKids Awards last Monday in New York. The 2013 iKids Awards were designed to highlight the best digital offerings for kids. The winners were selected unanimously by a panel of five industry judges.
Kidobi, the only Canadian company recognized at the event, uses a sophisticated algorithm to create personalized playlists for each child while allowing parents to influence the programming their child sees through a customizable profile. As each child watches Kidobi, the software adapts to the child by refining the selection of content for that viewer. This allows Kidobi to make better choices for each viewer the more they watch.
“Personalization will play a vital role in the future of both content distribution and education. This award demonstrates that the industry understands the importance of adaptive platforms like Kidobi,” said Leo Henning, Founder and CEO of Kidobi.

Henning sees the potential for Kidobi to become much more than a streaming video platform. “Our goal is to leverage the power of technology to help kids, so it’s important that we support a collaborative approach that allows parents, kids, child development researchers and educators to work together.”
Kidobi is currently available online at kidobi.com, with mobile apps for iPad and Android devices available from the App Store and Google Play. In 2013 Kidobi will focus on establishing new partnerships, expanding to more platforms, building their content library, and adding new features.
