Xpressi Trusted Service Manager Now Supports Secure Elements From INSIDE Secure

NBS TechnologiesNBS Technologies, a Canadian software and equipment provider for financial card personalization, has announced that the VaultSEcure® secure element from INSIDE Secure is now fully supported by the XpressiTrusted Service Manager (TSM). Financial institutions, mobile network operators and service providers can now use the Xpressi Trusted Service Manager to easily provision mobile secured applications on smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices based on this embedded secure element and securely download cardholder credentials.

“We have worked closely with INSIDE Secure to mutually validate that our respective solutions work flawlessly with each other, and I am happy to report that we have both achieved success,” said Bryan Hills, president and CEO of NBS Technologies. “The Xpressi TSM can now be used to load applets and personalization information on the VaultSecure secure element worldwide.”

According to Hills, MasterCard has recently evaluated the Xpressi Trusted Service Manager and added the software to its list of approved products.

“We welcome the opportunity to work with NBS to validate our VaultSEcure secure element and demonstrate our continuing commitment to industry standards compliance,” said Loic Hamon, vice president of products and marketing for the Mobile NFC Business Line at INSIDE Secure. “This is an important milestone in our TSM compliance strategy, and we will be continuing our efforts to ensure the compliance of our secure elements with the other major TSMs.”

The Trusted Service Manager is a critical component in mobile secure applications that provides access to the secure element in mobile devices so that service providers can distribute and manage applications remotely. The TSM works behind the scenes to transfer payment account information or any other credentials (depending on use case) onto the mobile device to enable it to perform secure transactions. The TSM integrates security systems to ensure that confidential consumer information remains completely secure.

Based on the INSIDE Secure VaultIC® architecture, the VaultSEcure secure element allows multiple trusted third parties to independently install and control their own applets in the same device. It comes pre-loaded with a suite of certified branded payment, access control and banking applets. Its Secure Memory Swap technology offers virtually unlimited storage for applet libraries at almost no cost, and a full complement of external interfaces for host connectivity supports all use cases. The VaultSEcure operating system is Java Card 3.0.1 and GlobalPlatform 2.2 compliant (including amendments A, C and D), and can be updated over the air.
