With less than 48 hours to go in the Kickstarter campaign for The Long Dark, Hinterland Games is pleased to announce that one of the most celebrated voice actors in games today has joined the very talented cast for the game. David Hayter is best known for his over 15-year role as the English voice of the iconic video game hero Solid Snake, from Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid series.

David’s years of experience bringing the complex, multi-layered character of Solid Snake to life make him ideal for delivering the kind of deep, character-driven storytelling that players will discover in The Long Dark. The development team is thrilled to have David join the cast. In addition to his extensive career as a voice actor, David is a successful screenwriter, director, and producer, having written the films X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and Watchmen.

In addition to the above announcement, Hinterland has officially launched their microsite Into The Long Dark, where they are also accepting pledges via PayPal. The studio will be combining the PayPal and Kickstarter totals for the next 48 hours to see if they can hit some of their stretch goals.

The dev team has also put together a video showing some snippets of the kind of choices you’ll have to make in The Long Dark.
