Fan Expo Vancouver™ 2014 is back – bigger, and better than before. With an extra day to embrace the best of Vancouver’s geekdom, fans are promised a lot more “pop” to go with the all-ages fan culture celebration of comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming. Canadians may be eagerly waiting for a spring thaw but there’s no one going more bananas over frozen ice than Donkey Kong.  In just three days, the world’s most recognizable primate will finally learn how many bananas were frozen inside a massive block of ice buried deep in the wilderness.    Canadians have until later today, Thursday February 20, to enter the Banana Mania contest at Nintendo of Canada’s Facebook page. Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) today announced the names of 13 recipients of its prestigious Annual Awards, which recognize individual and corporate leadership in advancing women’s achievement in Canada’s rapidly growing digital economy. Formerly Canadian Women in Communications (CWC), the revamped and much expanded WCT organization now represents 2,500 women in professions and industries from traditional media and corporate communications to information management and technology.
