Family Channel proved it had an APP-etite for success this past weekend as Zapped delivered the top non-sports specialty spot on Friday, June 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, drawing in an AMA of more than 643,200 viewers and reaching more than 1.1 million unique viewers (Ind. 2+).¹ The newest Disney Channel Original Movie is now the most-watched specialty broadcast year-to-date with the network’s key demo of kids aged 6-12.² Family swept the kids and girls aged 6-12 viewership on June 27 by also securing the #2 and #3 specialty programs rankings for the day.³

Featuring mega-watt Disney star Zendaya, the premiere of Zapped ranked number one across all specialty stations on Friday with the network’s core audience of kids aged 6-12 and girls aged 6-12, and claimed the #2 position with boys aged 6-12.⁴ Family further showcased its ability to secure and retain its audience over the course of the night with a new episode of the network’s hit series Liv and Maddie leading into the program ranking #2 (K6-12, G6-12)⁵ and a sneak peek of the highly anticipated new series Girl Meets World capturing the third spot for the day in specialty programming (K6-12, G6-12).⁶

Zapped follows Zoey Stevens (Zendaya), a skilled dancer and straight-A student whose life is turned upside-down when her mother remarries and she finds herself as part of a family of rambunctious, chaotic and messy boys, and an unruly dog. After a freak accident with her smart phone, Zoey learns she has a magical app that can somehow control all the boys around her.

Beginning Friday, July 11, Zapped will be available on Family OnDemand and is joined soon after by the exclusive first-look episode of Girl Meets World on Friday, July 18.
