Whistler Film Fest 2015 Open For Submissions

whistler film festivalThe Whistler Film Festival is seeking submissions for its 15th edition, which runs from December 2 to 6 2015, and will feature up to 90 films comprised of about 40 features and 50 shorts. Canadian and International filmmakers are invited to submit films of all lengths and genres by the following deadlines: 

  • Early Bird Deadline: May 2, 2015 (discount on application)
  • Regular Film Deadline: June 30, 2015
  • Late Film Deadline: August 15, 2015
  • Extended Late Film Deadline: August 31, 2015

To recognize the vitality of this art form, the 2015 Festival will feature six juried competitive sections and one audience award selected from up to 1,000 submissions.

The WFF committee is also accepting film submissions for the 2nd annual WFF Adventure Film Series, which is part of Whistler’s Great Outdoors Festival on the May long weekend. WFF-AFSAdventure films of all lengths are invited to submit for screening. Last year, the Series presented 20 films from 6 countries over 3 days. This year promises to be bigger and better.  Submissions are open until April 17th, and submission fees are $45 for features and $25 for shorts.

whistler spring flingIn addition, the Whistler Film Festival Society’s annual Spring Fling – A Taste of Whistler ‘fun’raiser is returns to launch Whistler’s spring season with a lively après celebration.

Prepare to feast on fine wine, food, fun and frivolity. Sample wines from BC’s See Ya Later Ranch, microbrew from Big Rock Brewery and more. Enjoy delicious appetizers from some of Whistler’s best restaurants including Araxi, Aura, Caramba and Cinnamon Bear with fine cheeses from Arla Foods, complimented by live entertainment, special guest appearances, a silent auction and a grand prize raffle.

Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Erin Cebula is our event host. Erin has been a host and producer for ET Canada since 2005, a gig that allows her to do what she does best – engage, explore and laugh with the biggest names in entertainment. Come straight from the slopes with your gear and all. Après ski attire is strongly encouraged. There’s nothing like partying in your ski boots on a Spring afternoon in Whistler. Please note this is a 19+ event.
