Rogers Cable and Shaw Media Sign Long-Term Distribution Deal

Shaw CableShaw Media and Rogers Communications announced today a significant long-term agreement for the continued distribution of all Shaw Media services, including top-performing channels like rogersHistory Television, HGTV Canada, Showcase, as well as on-demand rights to Global TV content. With this deal, Rogers cable customers will continue to have access to some of the best in lifestyle and drama programming through the Rogers Digital VIP package and RogersOnDemand.com.

“It is extremely gratifying to renew our long-standing relationship with Rogers and secure their continued support of our leading specialty television brands. The agreement acknowledges our investment in programming, aggressive evolution to high definition offerings and leadership in the on-demand space,” said Paul Robertson, President, Shaw Media. “This deal is a positive sign that industry players can find middle ground and come to an agreement.”

This deal will ensure that Shaw’s specialty programming will be available on-demand, online and on mobile, through linear, VOD, broadband and mobile rights.
