OpinCity is an app designed by Waterloo’s Pure And Noble, Inc. for locals to better discover their city. It’s a location based service (LBS) app that uses the GPS on your iOS and Android device to deliver time sensitive, and close-by results. It may be a concert, a Tuesday night wing special, or a neighbour’s snowblower for sale. The user is in control of the things they see, and it’s always around the corner. According to a report from the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), forty per cent of Canadians cannot identify a challenge to the success of the Internet in Canada. The report, entitled Challenges and Opportunities for the Internet in Canada, asked 1,210 Canadians what they perceive are the challenges facing the development of the Internet in Canada, and opportunities presented by the Internet. GamerCamp Level 3 is coming to Toronto’s Bathurst Street Theatre (and other various venues around Toronto) on November 25th-27th, and this is shaping to be the event’s biggest – and possibly best – festival to date (at least until Level 4). The full GamerCamp Schedule and Speaker Bios are now online.
