The British Columbia Film Foundation‘s Daryl Duke & William Vince Scholarships are intended to honour the significant contributions of Mr. Duke and Mr. Vince to the film and television industry by assisting in the advanced training of outstanding BC filmmakers.  Two Daryl Duke Scholarships and one William Vince Scholarship – in the amount of $10,000 each – will be awarded to exceptional British Columbians who have completed post secondary studies or equivalent training at an accredited institute in their field, and are entering advanced education in film or interactive media. Skills Canada British Columbia has announced the results of the Skills Canada British Columbia Provincial Competition 2013 including the 49 qualifying first place winners (PDF List) who will be competing at the 19^th Skills Canada National Competition. The provincial competition concluded today at the Trades – Trade & Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford. Medals were awarded to champions in six skilled trade and technology categories:  transportation, construction, manufacturing, information and technology (includes Animation, Film, TV, IT and Robotics), service and employment.
