National Film Board 3D Animations At TIFF

nfbA world-renowned creative laboratory making breakthroughs in animation and stereoscopic 3D (S3D) cinema, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) will showcase its auteur animators at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) with four new films. Taking place September 5 to 15, the festival will feature premieres of NFB S3D animated shorts in its Short Cuts Canada program, with The End of Pinky by Claire Blanchet, Impromptu by Bruce Alcock (Global Mechanic Media/NFB), Gloria Victoria by Theodore Ushev and Subconscious Password by Chris Landreth. California Schools Demonstrate Improvement In PreK And K With VINCI Blended Learning

vinciOttawa-based Rullingnet Corporation, home of VINCI learning solutions for early childhood, recently completed two case studies highlighting the transformation at EnCompass Academy in Oakland and the Cheryl Andersen Child Center in San Francisco brought about by the VINCI blended learning curriculum. The studies demonstrate how the children were excited about, and focused on learning traditionally difficult subjects such as math and science. With VINCI curriculum mapped to teacher’s course plans, they were able to save significant time in preparing their lessons. 21 Canadian Companies Receive Over $5.2M For Innovative Projects

Canada Media FundThe Canada Media Fund (CMF) has announced a contribution of more than $5.2M in development and marketing support to innovative digital media projects as part of the first round of its 2013-2014 Experimental Stream funding. In July 2013, the CMF announced a contribution of more than $12.1M to 17 projects that received production support.
