Toronto Mini Maker Faire, a weekend celebration of science, technology, robotics, hacking and maker culture will welcome 4,000 innovators, artists, makers, hackers and entrepreneurs – adults and kids alike – on September 21-22 in Toronto. Dubbed the most exciting show-and-tell on Earth, Toronto Mini Maker Faire at Wychwood Barns features an impressive roster of local makers. The world’s first 3D Chocolate printer, 3D scanner for home use, Arduino-powered foosball scoreboard, R2D2, robots that make robots themselves, and even clothes that communicate, created right here in Toronto will be on display.

Sunday, September 22 is Family Day at Toronto Mini Maker Faire, with extra programming designed specifically for parents and kids. We will also be bringing two buses with kids from Toronto’s priority neighbourhoods thanks to supporters of our Pay It Forward campaign.

Highlights of Toronto Mini Maker Faire

• 3D Chocolate printer – Founded by Mechatronics Engineering graduates based out of Waterloo, 3D Chocolateering has created the world’s first “chocolate selective laser sintering 3D printer” that can form solid objects by melting chocolate powder.
• Matterform 3D scanner – The world’s first truly affordable 3D scanner for home use, Matterform 3D scanner allows anyone to take a physical object and turn it into a digital model that can be printed on a 3D printer and used in an animation or a video game.
• Build your skateboard from scratch, by Roarocket – Guests can try their hand at laminating a skateboard from scratch without any power tools. Roarocket will demonstrate custom skateboard making using maple veneer and Roarockit’s technology developed in Canada.
• Robot Battle, by MakerKids – Get your robot on! MakerKids will get kids to decorate robots with balloons that would be popped via remote controls, and make robots battle each other in a fenced-off battle arena. The last robot standing is the winner.
