Hootsuite has just announced that Ken Mandel has joined the team as Managing Director of Asia Pacific (APAC). Ken is an experienced sales and digital advertising leader in APAC and he brings a wide range of enterprise innovation and executive leadership experience to HootSuite. Ken is now responsible for HootSuite’s regional growth strategy and rapid expansion with Enterprise customers. Prior to joining HootSuite, Mandel was Managing Director, Salesforce Marketing Cloud for APAC, and before that he was Buddy Media’s first hire in the region. Commuters will see ads promoting TPL’s e-books and e-magazines on subways, streetcars and outdoor shelters. This is part of a long-term strategy to increase awareness of e-content. Millennials may not be the entitled “me” generation after all. A new survey from intuit Canada shows that they embody a bold new entrepreneurial spirit that is remaking the Canadian economy. The survey, conducted by Angus Reid Public Opinion, found that Millennials – defined as those born between 1980 and 1995 – are twice as likely as the Canadian average to want to start a business in the next 12 months. Canada’s access to information and privacy laws should be modernized in order to protect these important rights in the face of dramatic technological change and the demands of engaged citizens, said the country’s access to information and privacy guardians in a Joint Resolution issued today. In their resolution, Information and Privacy Commissioners and Ombudspersons from across the country urge federal, provincial and territorial governments to update their respective laws. They noted that recent revelations about government surveillance programs have heightened Canadians’ concerns about the erosion of their privacy rights and have prompted calls for increased transparency and greater oversight.
