True Detective Creator Nic Pizzolatto To Deliver Master Class At Banff World Media Festival 2014
The Banff World Media Festival is proud to announce that Nic Pizzolatto will present a Master Class at the 35th annual BANFF, being held June 8-11, 2014. Pizzolatto is the Creator, Executive Producer, and Writer of True Detective, the HBO anthology series that recently completed its first season to much critical acclaim.
HBO picked up True Detective, which was written solely by Pizzolatto, in 2012. The first season of the anthology series, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, was highly acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. True Detective’s first season kept its audience on the edge of their seats as Pizzolatto smoothly unraveled the tale of two homicide detectives on the hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. Employing multiple timelines over the seventeen year story, True Detective’s cinematic scope is unparalleled in contemporary television.
“The Banff World Media Festival has brought together some of the biggest talents in the television industry over the past 35 years,” said Pizzolatto. “To be included amongst such distinguished company is a great honour.”
