Telefilm Canada is proud to announce that Canadian film will be in the spotlight at the 3rd Los Cabos International Film Festival (CIFF) in Mexico from November 12 to 16. Mommy by Xavier Dolan will unspool as a gala screening; Canadian directors Atom Egoyan and Denys Arcand will be honoured with screenings of two of their classic films; Tu dors Nicole (Stéphane Lafleur), Trois histoires d’Indiens (Robert Morin)and Violent (Andrew Huculiak) will be in official competition; Piers Handling, Director and CEO of the Toronto International Film Festival, will be a juror; and a Canadian delegation will take part in the first Mexico-United States-Canada Coproduction Forum. Electronic Arts Inc. has announced that EA SPORTS™ FIFA World, a free-to-play* football game for PC, launched a new gameplay engine, the game’s biggest update yet. The new engine raises the bar for free-to-play football games and introduces a number of fan-favorite gameplay features from previous FIFA franchise titles, including Attacking Intelligence, which gives teammates the ability to analyze the play and better position themselves to create a variety of attacking opportunities, and Complete Dribbling adds creativity in attack by allowing fans to utilize precise dribble touches while facing defenders. During a Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo dropped a moon-sized announcement: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, a remake of the beloved Nintendo 64 game, is coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS in spring 2015. The Canada Media Fund announced today that 6 convergent productions have been awarded $2.5M from the second round of funding of the Francophone Minority Program which supports productions that reflect the realities and interests of French communities outside of Quebec.
