A new Nintendo Direct video has revealed numerous details about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. video games for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems. At the start of the video, series creator Masahiro Sakurai announced that the launch of the Nintendo 3DS version of the game is planned for this summer, with the Wii U version planned for winter 2014. Both games will be available in stores and in the Nintendo eShop for their respective platforms. Sakurai also detailed many of the stages and items in both versions, described the games’ online functionality, revealed a new mode exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version and announced fan-favourite Greninja, a Pokémon from the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games, as a new playable character. Independent developer Frima Studio is putting the fate of Raia in players’ hands in the new hack ‘n slash dungeon crawler Lightbringers: Saviors of Raia. In the game, players can work together with friends and other online players to eradicate the infection and cleanse Raia of all darkness. Armed with deadly weapons and bearing the power of the Light, players will reclaim the corrupted territories and deliver justice to the relentless plague. Ubisoft has just announced that the long-awaited Watch_Dogs will be available worldwide on May 27, 2014 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Spearhead Games, the Montreal-based indie developer who brought co-op gamers the quirky puzzler Tiny Brains, has revealed the studio’s next project: a competitive physics-based video game for PC and consoles. Expanding the studio’s “always playtesting” philosophy, Spearhead Games will open the entire development process up to the community for feedback through the studio’s weekly Twitch shows airing Thursdays at 7 p.m. Eastern. To make the new project even more of a challenge, the slightly masochistic but mostly lovable co-founders, Malik Boukhira, Simon Darveau and Atul Mehra, have decided to build the game in three months. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today unveiled the first details for Cold, Cold Heart; the action-packed story add-on for Batman: Arkham Origins. In this extensive story add-on, players will unearth the tragic origin story of Mr.Freeze and learn how he earned his role as one of Batman’s arch nemeses. Cold, Cold Heart will be available for purchase on the PlayStation®Network, Xbox LIVE and Steam beginning April 22. This add-on pack will be available to players who have purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass and are connected to the Internet, or it can be purchased separately.
