Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment hasy released its AdvenChewers App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. In this new, original mobile game, players must conquer robot armies and evade “goo” by soaring across the sky. Developed by Quebec’s Sarbakan, AdvenChewers features six distinctive worlds with 48 levels and 50 missions to complete. The world of The Long Dark is one of harsh beauty. The same elements that may kill you with indifference, haunt you with their majesty. For such a potentially awesome game, I had a really difficult time playing The Wonderful 101, a recent release from Platinum Games and Nintendo for the Wii U.The game’s environment is very colourful and full of hiding spots for treasures, enemies and puzzles, a typical Nintendo formula. The premise of the game is that a band of unlikely heroes must save Earth and its citizens from an onslaught of giant mechanical aliens, whose name, by the way, is an acronym puzzle. Teamwork is a necessity for our heroes, as it takes their combined effort to formulate weapons and tools in order to move through the game world. True to form, each hero has his or her own super power, mundane identity and colour, a la Power Rangers – enabling our valiant fighters to form fists, bridges, swords, guns and more. Support for first-person post-disaster survival sim The Long Dark on Kickstarter has been overwhelming. Yesterday, the game was named Project of the Day on Kickstarter, and the number of backers swelled past 3,500. The final push is on in this, the final week of the fundraising campaign, and those backers have pushed Hinterland Games to the 60% mark of its financing target with 8 days to go.
