A crack team of top Canadian athletes and award-winning illustrators is warming up their coloured pencils and getting their game faces on to host a series of workshops—starting this Friday—to help inspire young people to enter the Toronto 2015 Mascot Creation Challenge, which closes in just four weeks’ time. The workshops on Friday and Saturday will be held in libraries and community centres throughout Toronto, Ajax, Caledon, Hamilton, Markham and Mississauga. The Canadian Cloud Council is pleased to announce the final agenda for the association’s third national conference “Cloud Matters” on March 11 and 12, 2013 at the Rimrock Resort in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The cCc is the only Canadian national cloud industry body and is actively involved in Canadian cloud policy making, ecosystem development and community building. “Cloud Matters” will feature 50 Canadian cloud evangelists, business leaders, investors and policy makers tasked with creating “Canada’s Cloud Globalization Action Plan”. Hosted annually by 3P Learning, the World Education Games allows students from around the world to compete with each other in an on-line competition.  Last year, 6 million students from over 200 countries and territories participated in the free competition.  3P Learning’s online resources – Mathletics, Spellodrome, and IntoScience – are the engines for the educational challenge that allows students to compete based on their age and skill level. TED, the nonprofit known for “Ideas Worth Spreading,” announces today it will celebrate its 30th anniversary by holding its annual North American conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2014, moving from the current Long Beach, California, venue. TEDActive, a parallel event featuring the full conference simulcast, will be held in nearby Whistler, the renowned mountain resort, moving from Palm Springs, California.
