As many of you already know, the Oscar® for Achievement in Visual Effects went to the film Hugo, which featured the work of Seneca graduates and professors. Six graduates and professors from Seneca College worked on Martin Scorsese’s 3D children’s adventure, including Professors Mahmoud Rahnama division computer graphics lead and Kenny Tam (division computer graphics supervisor) and graduates Tricia Kim (matchmove artist), John Dinh compositor, Karen Cheng (compositor), and Rickey Verma (compositor). Students and graduates in the Waterloo area and across southern Ontario, will benefit from nearly $2.5 million to help stimulate innovation through skills training. More than three in four (78 per cent) executives polled said cover letters are valuable when evaluating job candidates.
