The perceived risk of cybercrime to Canadian organizations is on the rise according to a new report on economic crime from PwC. The 2011 Global Economic Crime Survey ranks cybercrime as one of the top four economic crimes (23%), slightly behind accounting fraud and bribery and corruption (24%). Asset misappropriation (or theft) is the top crime, reported by 72% of organizations around the world who were victims of economic crime in the past year. Read the rest of this entry »

Mobilicity has reaffirmed its support of Ontario MPP David Orazietti’s wireless consumer protection legislation, scheduled to go into Second Reading on December 1st. Ontario’s Bill 5, originally introduced in 2010 as Bill 133, The Wireless Phone, Smart Phone and Data Service Transparency Act 2011, would require wireless carriers to provide clear disclosure of all optional and mandatory services and contract cancellation penalties, and limit contract termination fees.
