Hosted annually by 3P Learning, the World Education Games allows students from around the world to compete with each other in an on-line competition.  Last year, 6 million students from over 200 countries and territories participated in the free competition.  3P Learning’s online resources – Mathletics, Spellodrome, and IntoScience – are the engines for the educational challenge that allows students to compete based on their age and skill level. It was another touchdown for CTV‘s original programming slate on Sunday night as, despite an 11p.m. ET start time, 1.23 million viewers tuned in for the post-Super Bowl premiere of its new original drama series Motive. The debut becomes the #1 Canadian series premiere of the 2012/13 broadcast year. With 4.2 million viewers tuning in to some or all of the new Canadian crime drama, Motive tackled its competition by more than doubling Elementary’s audience head-to-head (548,000; Global), and kicked off its debut season as the most-watched program of the night, next to the Super Bowl. Following a massive promotion and publicity campaign, Motive held steady throughout the delayed broadcast and scored big among both men and women, with a 6.5 rating for M18-34 in Toronto and a 5.2 rating for F18-34 in Vancouver. BlackBerry and Unity Technologies have announced that they are working together to create a Unity deployment add-on product for BlackBerry® 10 smartphones, empowering Unity’s over 1.5 million strong developer community to publish their games on these powerful platforms. The deployment tools will also be available for BlackBerry PlayBook™ tablets when they run the BlackBerry 10 OS. BlackBerry 10 will now be one of the premiere mobile platforms supported by the market-leading Unity engine. HootSuite has introduced Socialcast, the company’s latest integration designed for enterprise, but available to all HootSuite users. Found in the HootSuite App Directory, Socialcast is an internal social network for businesses. It unites people, information and applications, with its real-time enterprise “activity stream engine.” More than 30,000 organizations in 190 countries rely on Socialcast to provide secure, instant collaboration and communication across their businesses. TED, the nonprofit known for “Ideas Worth Spreading,” announces today it will celebrate its 30th anniversary by holding its annual North American conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2014, moving from the current Long Beach, California, venue. TEDActive, a parallel event featuring the full conference simulcast, will be held in nearby Whistler, the renowned mountain resort, moving from Palm Springs, California. Following the recent test launch in Canada that propelled the game to the top three grossing spot in the Racing category, and into the Top 50 overall Free Apps on the App Store, Sky Pirates Racing by Vancouver’s Fathom Interactive is now available globally for the iPad, iPhone, Amazon Kindle Fire and on Facebook, while the Google Play for Android version will be available next week. Sky Pirates Racing is a 3D cross-platform multiplayer game where players compete in real time. Racers must speed through a three-lap, six-player race on their magic-powered Glidewings. The game is the latest addition to the Sky Pirates of Neo Terra franchise, featuring steampunk-inspired visuals designed by renowned pop surrealism artist Camilla d’Errico.
