National business broadband services provider TeraGo Inc. has entered into a definitive share purchase agreement to acquire Data Centers Canada Inc. Data Centers Canada operates a 16,000 square foot SSAE 16 certified data centre facility in Vaughan, Ontario, and provides data centre solutions, including colocation and disaster recovery, to businesses, enterprises, public sector and technology service providers. Reflap is a new web app that just launched which aims to destroy the phone number by attaching a call address to your identity and not a device. The website works by allowing you to choose a username which is transformed into a call address and anyone you share your call link to, can call you from any device connected to the web. Reflap was started a year ago by Bishop’s University junior, Michael Nana. The website which describes itself as “the easiest and best way to stay in contact with your friends and family” also allows you to make quick and free calls to anyone of your choice. After five successful years of helping nearly 50 high schools across Canada transform their classrooms into modern learning centres, Future Shop‘s Future Generation Tech Lab program has announced the expansion of its grant opportunities to elementary schools. These grants will award up to $100,000 to public schools with grades ranging from kindergarten up to and including grade eight and secondary 2 in Quebec. Amazon Publishing announces Kindle Worlds, the first commercial publishing platform that will enable any writer to create fan fiction based on a range of original stories and characters and earn royalties for doing so. Amazon Publishing has secured licenses from Warner Bros. Television Group’s Alloy Entertainment division for its New York Times best-selling book series Gossip Girl, by Cecily von Ziegesar; Pretty Little Liars, by Sara Shepard; and Vampire Diaries, by L.J. Smith; and plans to announce more licenses soon. Through these licenses, Kindle Worlds will allow any writer to publish authorized stories inspired by these popular Worlds and make them available for readers to purchase in the Kindle Store.
