Scotland’s Dimensional Imaging (DI) has announced the delivery of the latest version of its DI3D™ software to Electronic Arts. The Canadian Videogame Awards were handed out in Vancouver Saturday evening, with indie developed game Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP from Capybara Games in Toronto and Eidos-Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution each taking home five awards. FIFA Soccer 12 from Electronic Arts was the public’s choice for Game of the Year, and NHL 12 from Electronic Arts was named the top selling videogame in Canada. Other individual winners included Margaritaville Online from Exploding Barrel Games, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012, both from Ubisoft Montreal. GREE has announced that the corporation has made a minority investment in Vancouver-based game developer IUGO Mobile Entertainment Inc. IUGO specializes in the design, development and deployment of premium quality mobile games. The new partnership follows GREE’s recent investment in Tokyo-based HTML5 powerhouse Wizcorp. We had a chance to view the student pitch for this game, as well as give it a trial play, a few months ago at Vancouver Film School.
