A total of 27 new interactive digital media projects have received a combined total of $6.5 million as part of the Canada Media Fund’s (CMF) Experimental Stream second round of funding for development and marketing support. Eight of those projects will receive a total of $1.6 million for Marketing Support, while $4.9 million will provide Development Support to 19 game, interactive content platform and social media projects. Social relationship platform HootSuite achieved key milestones in the fourth quarter of 2013. More than 75% of Fortune 1000 companies now use HootSuite for social media management, social marketing, social customer service, and social selling. Disney XD is putting the ‘fan’ in Fangbone by giving viewers the power to call the shots for its latest pilot. The network’s new animated adventure follows the epic journey of a nine-year-old barbarian warrior and is getting an early start on DisneyXD.ca, where viewers can influence the pilot’s creative direction by voting for what they want to hear.
