Websense Survey Says Canada Tops Mobile Data Loss

websenseA new “Global Study on Mobility Risks” reveals that corporate mobile devices and the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) phenomenon are rapidly circumventing enterprise security and policies in Canada. Seventy-one percent of more than 400 respondents in Canada agree that the use of mobile devices in the workplace is important to achieving business objectives. But 72 percent also believe that these devices put their organizations at risk—and only half the organizations surveyed have the necessary security controls to address the risk. Ernst And Young Report Increase In Canadian Technology Mergers And Acquisitions

Ernst & YoungThe number of technology mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in Canada nearly doubled from 15 deals in the fourth quarter of 2010 to 27 in 2011, according to Ernst & Young‘s Global technology M&A update and 2011 review. Public Policy Forum Report – Canadian Regions Lead on Innovation

public policy forumCanada’s Public Policy Forum has released Leading Innovation: Insights from Canadian Regions, a report from an initiative which sought to uncover what makes some of Canada’s key regions more innovative, and what lessons can be learned from these leading examples. Seven sessions were convened in regions across the country over the course of six-months featuring participation of entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy makers and researchers. The report is the result of a collaborative venture between the Public Policy Forum, BMO Financial Group, Deloitte, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), the Government of Ontario and the Canadian Tourism Commission.
