The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has announced that 25 interactive digital media projects received a total of $12.6M in funding as part of the first round of production support from the Experimental Stream. The Experimental Stream encourages the creation of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications. Consumers will be able to enjoy a variety of interactive digital media content including 16 games, 4 interactive projects, 2 social media platforms, 2 software applications, and 1 ebook. Vancouver’s QuickMobile has integrated more than 130 third-party systems into its mobile event app platform, supporting thousands of events and millions of users with diverse solutions. These systems include enterprise social collaboration tools from Salesforce and Jive Software, real-time polling systems from Lumi and registration systems from EventBrite and RegOnline. QuickMobile today announced strategic relationships with several registration software providers in an effort to simplify registration integration into the mobile event app experience. While QuickMobile will continue to support most registration systems, the company will now provide deeper productized offerings and out-of-the-box integration with a select number of solutions, including those provided by AllianceTech, Certain Inc., Cvent, etouches, EventsForce, Opus Solutions and SignUp4. Nominations opened today for games developed in 2014 for the 5th Annual Canadian Videogame Awards (CVAs), taking place November 21st at The Carlu in the heart of downtown Toronto. With the move to an autumn format, this year’s show will present awards from 2013 and a portion of 2014. As one of the largest producers of videogames in the world, the show will celebrate Canada’s spot on the world stage as a leader in interactive entertainment.
