Today at gamescom, the world’s biggest gaming show in Cologne, Germany, Microsoft announces new content for EA Sports™ FIFA 14 only on Xbox, unveiled a new map and multiplayer mode for Call of Duty®: Ghosts and new details on the Independent Developers @ Xbox program (ID@Xbox), which enables game developers of all shapes and sizes to build, publish and sell their games digitally on Xbox One. Ubisoft® has announced that Fighter Within™, the first fighting game designed specifically for the next generation of hardware, will be available for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft at launch. In development at Daoka in Belgium, Fighter Within, makes full use of Kinect for Xbox One technology, providing players the excitement of a real fighting competition while battling their friends to earn their bragging rights. Electronic Arts Inc. has announced that the official game demo for the award winning EA Sports NHL®14 is available for download today in North America on Xbox LIVE® and PlayStation® Network. Powered by a generation of the best EA Sports™ technology, NHL 14 delivers hockey at its finest with big hits, real fights, unbelievable speed and skill. The NHL 14 demo features three modes: the NHL 94 Anniversary Mode, Play Now, and Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT). Founded by two game developers with a passion for intense experiences, Red Meat Games offers the kind of video games that players have a hunger for, and their first offering is partway through a very successful Kickstarter campaign. Steel & Steam: Episode 1 is a retro fantasy steampunk JRPG situated in a large open world. The studio’s initial funding goal has been met, and the developers are now working towards realizing their stretch goals, to which further contributions received will be applied. Spearhead Games, an independent game studio founded by former EA, Ubisoft® and Eidos® developers, today revealed that it intends to publish Tiny Brains, the co-op puzzle game that drew wide acclaim at this year’s E3, as a PlayStation® 4 launch title in November, alongside simultaneous releases for Xbox LIVE® Arcade and Steam.
