Canadian Government Takes Steps to Boost Canada’s Film and Television Production

Government of CanadaOn behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Paul Calandra, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Member of Parliament (Oak Ridges-Markham), has announced the implementation of Canada’s policy on coproductions. The new policy takes steps to deepen Canada’s audiovisual production partnerships with markets around the world. Mr. Calandra also announced the continuation of coproduction negotiations with foreign partners. Ackroo Helps Boost Local Merchant Economies

ackrooLoyalty and rewards technology and services provider Ackroo Inc. has announced that it has been selected by the Downtown Penticton Association (DPA), to launch their Downtown Rewards Program – a loyalty program designed to promote local businesses in downtown Penticton, British Columbia. Under the terms of the commercial agreement Ackroo and its channel partner, Balanced Life Enterprises, will work with the DPA and its business members to deploy the community-based rewards program. CTV Orders New Half-Hour Original Comedy Series Spun Out

CTVCTV announced today from the Prime Time in Ottawa conference it has ordered to series the new half-hour Canadian scripted comedy series Spun Out, starring Dave Foley (News Radio, Kids In The Hall), Paul Campbell (Battlestar Galactica), Rebecca Dalton (The L.A. Complex), Al Mukadam (Radio Free Roscoe), Holly Deveaux (Baxter), JP Manoux (Community, ER), and Darcy Michael (Endgame). From Project 10 Productions, CTV’s multi-cam office comedy is created by Jeff Biederman (Life With Derek), Brent Piaskoski (According To Jim) and Brian K. Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond), and is produced by Andrew Barnsley (Hot Box). CTV has ordered 12 half-hour episodes in addition to the pilot shot last month in Toronto. Music For Productions Announces Release Of New Online Licensing Tool
